Volunteering allows you to immerse yourself in the day to day of normal life at a village level which can really add to your understanding of the world around you. It is a great way to get to know Africa. As a volunteer you also have an opportunity to make a real difference.

Volunteering can be booked on its own or in combination with any of our overland camping trips, short beach breaks or a Kilimanjaro climb. We can assist with advice as to how to work your flights and all arrangements on the ground so that all runs smoothly including liasing with the project management. We can also recommend some cool things to get up to if you have some time spare in between your project and an overland trip. Give us a call if you would like some advice as to how to get involved in one of the projects.

We currently have a few different programs you can consider in quite different locations. Programs include:

We have a variety of programmes available focusing on hands-on work with the beautiful wildlife of Africa. There is the opportunity to get involved in the feeding, general daily care of animals as well as some exciting research work. There is also the chance to help out within the local community and schools. Our Namibia placements also have the option to work in a Bushman clinic as a medical volunteer to contribute with health care for the local San Bushmen in the surrounding areas.

Education is desparately underfunded in Kenya and Uganda. These programs involve you in building and renovation work in village schools, and where appropriate in teaching in local schools.

Programs in Kenya are for two, four and six weeks and the core of the work is based around building. How much teaching you wish to do is up to you. If you want to get involved in the Ugandan work just let us know when you are free. There are a range of objectives with which you might get involved with in Uganda from school refurbishment to working with special needs children.
