Over a year and a half along since the start of the pandemic and Covid 19 continues to impact on so many aspects of life. We all have plans on hold and our world remains a smaller place as authorities grapple with how best to manage. At times it is hard not to be overwhelmed with sadness at the level of loss and concern for the more vulnerable in our communities and around the planet.
Meanwhile travel restrictions, quarantines, limited flights and non essential travel advisories continue. Our tours have been stopped through to the beginning of April and we are currently assessing from there. Our vehicles are parked up and the overland teams are in the main at home, with administrative/operations staff all working from home too.
One of our main priorities now is ensuring how to best place ourselves to head off on the overlanding tours as soon as we believe it is safe to do so. The well being of our clients and staff has always to be our first priority, and so we need to be very sure our programs and procedures are as COVID fit as possible. This way we can be as safely placed as we can be, to ensure you get the most from your time in the special, wild and remote places where we visit. Many countries on the African continent continue to have lower case numbers of the virus to date in comparison with other parts of the world, as well as lower hospitalisation rates with a younger population and experience in dealing with health crises standing it in some reasonable stead. We continue optimistic as we start to make plans for restarting during this year. The roll out of vaccinations as well brings much optimism.
We so appreciate the patience, understanding, enthusiasm and encouragement of past and present clients, crew and staff, operators, friends and families - thank you for the ongoing support. We are taking time to work out how best to adjust some arrangements and are gradually reconfirming the relevant arrangements.
We do encourage anyone who has queries or concerns about their travel plans to get in touch. Dates are now available on the website through to the end of 2023 for all those looking at future trips.
Given the situation too we now have adjusted our booking conditions including allowing free transfers if you wish to transfer. There will be so many things to consider when you start to think about your trip to Africa from flights to travel insurance to vaccinations, and we do understand there is a lot of uncertainty and are here to help.
We all look forward to a time when our days return to a normalcy of work and travel. We really can't wait to get back on the road again
Wherever you are in the world. Keep safe. Keep well and best wishes.
