Itinerary

Days 1 - 7 KENYA - UGANDA Nairobi - Predeparture meeting, visit to Samburu National Park, or Lake Baringo, with a visit with the Samburu, Ngempe or Pokot tribes, Jinja, Lake Victoria. Optionals: A boat ride, Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Days 8 - 14 UGANDA The Virungas, Lake Bunyoni, Queen Elizabeth National Park, game cruise and game drive (all departures from the 9th October), Kampala. Optionals: Mountain gorilla trek, (Either Parc Nacional de Volcans (Rwanda) or Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Uganda), orphanage visit, Kigale Genocide Memorial, mountain hiking, canoeing. Days 15 - 22 UGANDA - KENYA Jinja, The White Nile and Bujagali Falls, Kembu Farm and Lake Nakuru National Park, game drives, Rift Valley, Masai Mara game drives), Giraffe Park, Sheldrick elephant orphanage, Nairobi. Optionals: White water rafting, village walks, voluntary work in a local school, quad biking, Crescent Island, Hells Gate National Park including Maasai Cultural Centre, Elsamere, a night out in a restaurant in Nairobi. Days 23 - 33 TANZANIA - MALAWI Ngorongoro Crater, game drives, Mto Wa Mbu, Arusha, views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam. Optionals: Serengeti National Park, Olduvai Gorge Museum, Masai Boma (village), camel safari. Four days on Zanzibar island visiting Stone Town, Prison Island, scuba diving, snorkelling, swimming with the dolphins, viewing the red colobus monkeys and other activities such as a spice tour. Days 34 - 39 MALAWI - ZAMBIA Mikumi National Park, Lake Malawi, beach resorts, fishing villages, markets, horse riding, Lilongwe. Optionals: Water sports, horse riding, school and hospital visits, village meals and dancing, plateau walks, Days 40 - 48 ZAMBIA South Luangwa (18th May to 9th October), Lusaka, Lake Kariba. Optionals: Lake Kariba houseboats. Days 49 - 52 ZAMBIA - Livingstone/Victoria Falls Optionals: White water rafting, 'Flight of the Angels', gorge swing/abseil, sunset cruise, township tour, rhino trek, lion walks, horse and elephant rides, interactive drumming and many other activities at Victoria Falls. Days 53 - 57 BOTSWANA - NAMIBIA Chobe safari lodge, Makgadikgadi Pans, Maun. Optionals:Chobe National Park, game drive and game cruise, Okavango Delta guided mokoro safari, flight over the Delta. Days 58 - 67 NAMIBIA Etosha National Park, Cheetah Park, visit with Bushmen, Skeleton Coast, Cape Cross Seal Colony, Swakopmund. Optionals: Rock paintings, Quad biking, sandboarding, sky diving, desert flights, township tour, open sea fishing. Days 68 - 73 NAMIBIA - SOUTH AFRICA Namib Desert, Sossusvlei, guided walk on the dunes, Namib Naukluft National Park, Fish River Canyon, Ai Ais, Orange River, Cape Town. Optionals: Canoeing, wine tour. Please note this safari will adjust to 71 days from 9th October 09. From this date we will regularly travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a game cruise once in Uganda rather than visit Samburu or Lake Baringo. We will from this date also visit the big highlights in Kenya - the Mara, Nakuru, Naivasha and Hells Gate as well as Sheldricks Elephant Orphanage and the Giraffe Park during the first 7 days so we can avoid doubling back through Uganda into Kenya after the gorilla trek.
