Itinerary

Days 1 -6 KENYA - UGANDA Nairobi - Predeparture meeting, visit to Samburu National Park, or Lake Baringo, with a visit with the Samburu, Ngempe or Pokot tribes. Jinja, Kampala. Days 7 - 13 UGANDA The Virungas, Lake Bunyoni, Queen Elizabeth with game cruise on Kazinga Channel (18 October to 9 March departures inclusive), Lake Victoria, The White Nile and Bujagali Falls. Optionals: Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary or Sweetwater Reserve, Mountain gorilla trek, mountain hiking, canoeing, whitewater rafting, kyaking, quad biking, horse riding, village walks, volunteer work in a local school. Days 14 - 22 UGANDA - KENYA Eldoret, Lake Nakuru National Park, game drives, The Masai Mara (18th May to 28th October 2009 departures inclusive), Rift Valley, Lake Naivasha, Nairobi. Optionals: Crescent Island, Hells Gate National Park including Masai Cultural Centre, Elsamere for afternoon tea, village walks, a night out in a restaurant in Nairobi. Days 23 - 28 TANZANIA Ngorongoro Crater, game drives, Mto Wa Mbu, Arusha, views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam. Optionals: Serengeti National Park, Olduvai Gorge Museum, Masai Boma (village), camel safari. Days 29 - 33 ZANZIBAR ISLAND Optionals: Four days on Zanzibar island visiting Stone Town, Prison Island, scuba diving, snorkelling, swimming with the dolphins, viewing the red colobus monkeys and other activities such as a spice tour. Days 34 - 38 TANZANIA - MALAWI Mikumi National Park, Lake Malawi, beach resorts, fishing villages, markets. Optionals: Water sports, horse riding, school visits, village meals and dancing. Days 39 - 48 MALAWI - ZAMBIA Lilongwe, Lusaka, South Luangwa or another reserve in Malawi (weather permiting), Lake Kariba. Optionals: Two night houseboat cruise on Lake Kariba. Days 49 - 52 LIVINGSTONE, ZAMBIA Victoria Falls. Optionals: White water rafting, canoeing, 'Flight of the Angels', gorge swing/abseil, sunset cruise, interactive drumming, township tours, horse rides, lion walks, elephant rides and many other activities at Victoria Falls. Further itinerary notes: Due to the ongoing concerns on the ground in Zimbabwe please note we are usually finishing this safari on the Livingstone side of the Zambezi at Victoria Falls. We would advise that flights can be arranged from Livingstone, on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls for the end of this safari. There is an international airport in Livingstone. Alternatively flights can be organised out of the Victoria Falls, Zimbabwean side. Transfers can be arranged to either airport from the campsite where we stay. Do note also this safari will travel a different route and adjust to 49 days from 9th October 09 departure. There will also be adjustments as to what the local payment will cover.
