Day Eight
Up early this morning before sunrise and then it was time to hit the
road and meet our nine new travel companions! Five were staying at the Wildebeest Eco Camp so we headed there first and met Mike, Stephen, Suzanne, Jasper and Robert before heading over to the Heron Hotel to collect Phil, Mark, Emma and Leila. The truck was nice and full and the sound of greetings and laughter echoed around! We had a fair bit of a drive to the border today so used the time to get to know each other.
Crossing the border just after a quick lunch stop, we waved goodbye to Kenya and took our first steps into Tanzania. Continuing on our drive we made it to a lovely shopping complex where we met Ciara and Larry – two more faces to join our expanding group of adventurers!
After a quick supply shop it was on to Masai Camp where we will spend the night.
Spirits were high as we continued finding more out about each other over about few beers and about chicken satay dinner. Early to bed as one of the big highlights begins tomorrow – the 2 night excursion to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater – cue excitement all round!
