{"id":518,"date":"2011-02-18T18:45:56","date_gmt":"2011-02-18T18:45:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.absoluteafrica.com\/liveblog\/?p=518"},"modified":"2014-03-07T20:23:29","modified_gmt":"2014-03-07T20:23:29","slug":"day-8-arusha","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.absoluteafrica.com\/liveblog\/2011\/02\/day-8-arusha\/","title":{"rendered":"Day 8 &#8211; Arusha"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Birthday Chris!!<\/p>\n<p>Today we left Nairobi and along the way we picked up another six entrepid adventurers.\u00a0 The group \u00a0just got a whole lot bigger.\u00a0 We drove south through the Kenyan country side\u00a0until we reached the Tanzanian border.\u00a0 Border crossings can sometimes be difficult but no problems were encountered.\u00a0\u00a0 A drive along a bumpy road (road works are in progress!) and a couple of bush stops later we arrived in the town of Arusha.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0We\u00a0stopped in town for a bit of shopping and to change money and then on to our campsite.\u00a0 \u00a0It was an evening of chats and stories of the past week, setting the scene for the new guys as to the adventures to come and the animals they will hopefully see in the coming days.\u00a0 Bed time and time to bunker down because the long rains seem to have arrived early and it was a very wet and stormy night!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Birthday Chris!!
