It is diverse in its environments and our journey will take us through bush, beaches, dunes and deserts. It is also very sparsely populated, only 1.8 million people live in Namibia, so there are times when you can almost go through a whole day and not see another vehicle on the road.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.absoluteafrica.com\/liveblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Denis-SAn-Kid-with-Sunglasses.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-360\" title=\"Denis SAn Kid with Sunglasses\" src=\"http:\/\/www.absoluteafrica.com\/liveblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Denis-SAn-Kid-with-Sunglasses-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.absoluteafrica.com\/liveblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Denis-SAn-Kid-with-Sunglasses-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.absoluteafrica.com\/liveblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Denis-SAn-Kid-with-Sunglasses.jpg 602w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>Our first Namibia experience is the San, or Bushmen people.\u00a0 It is a dying culture and there may not be more that 3000 San people living a traditional life in all of Africa.\u00a0 They have been pushed out of every niche they inhabited including the inhospitable climate of the Kalahari and now have to reside in reservations.\u00a0 So we try and visit these people and get a glimpse of how they used to live and how they are capable of surviving in the bush of Africa.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.absoluteafrica.com\/liveblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Denis-San-Kids.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-361\" title=\"Denis &amp; San Kids\" src=\"http:\/\/www.absoluteafrica.com\/liveblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Denis-San-Kids-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.absoluteafrica.com\/liveblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Denis-San-Kids-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.absoluteafrica.com\/liveblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Denis-San-Kids.jpg 602w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The other great thing about this campsite is the kids.\u00a0 They are fearless little devils that will try anything for a laugh and a bit of fun.\u00a0 They play with us (and our football) for hours.\u00a0 They take photos with our cameras and pose like gangsters trying to look as cool as they can.\u00a0 We try and entertain them with things they may not get regularly, like balloons.\u00a0 It\u2019s a great afternoon and evening watching and playing with the kids.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.absoluteafrica.com\/liveblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Denis-Eeyore-stuck-in-Mud-Bots.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-362\" title=\"Denis - Eeyore stuck in Mud Bots\" src=\"http:\/\/www.absoluteafrica.com\/liveblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Denis-Eeyore-stuck-in-Mud-Bots-300x199.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.absoluteafrica.com\/liveblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Denis-Eeyore-stuck-in-Mud-Bots-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.absoluteafrica.com\/liveblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/Denis-Eeyore-stuck-in-Mud-Bots.jpg 602w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Did I ever mention that overlanding was an experience like no other? Have you heard of the term T.I.A.?
