But who cares? Especially when you have the beach and the sun.<\/p>\n<p>The first day is spent in Stone Town,\u00a0 a World Heritage site and where African and Arabic traditions are blended to give this part of Africa a completely different feel than anywhere else so far. \u00a0The small narrow alleyways and streets of Stone Town give one a feeling that one has been whisked off to North Africa and the Middle East. Stone Town is all about taking in the local culture, the spices, the seafood and the scenery and that is exactly what we do.<\/p>\n<p>After a lunch at a local restaurant, to try out Zanzibar spice rice and local cuisine, we head off to a local village and tour the spices that were and still are grown on the island.\u00a0 After our tour there is not much better than a cold beer at Mercury\u2019s bar (a bar dedicated to Freddy and Queen), \u00a0taking in the Sunset with the local Dhows parading the horizon criss-crossing the suns fading rays.\u00a0 The night is then completed with a feast at Stone Town\u2019s local food market.<\/p>\n<p>Zanzibar Challange<strong> &#8211;<\/strong> Second event was won by \u2018Kiwi Cougars\u2019.\u00a0 Third event was a tie with \u2018ACDD\u2019 and \u2018Kiwi Cougars\u2019 sharing the honours.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AAAAH!!\u00a0 The relaxation of Zanzibar.\u00a0 Yes it is hot and yes it is humid.
