Safari across the famous plains of the Serengeti, named by the Maasai as the place where the land runs forever, and into Ngorongoro Crater, the remnant of an ancient volcano that blew 3 million years ago leaving an ancient caldera and dispersing a thick layer of ash on the plains of the Serengeti.
Each year from November the migrating herds of wildebeest, zebra and Thomson's gazelle gradually head towards these fertile lands to feed on the nutrient rich low - rooted grasses that grow here. The herds stay on during calving through February/March, allowing time for the young to build strength over April.
Across the two parks game viewing is superb with the chance to see so much wildlife - lion, elephant, black rhino, giraffe, hippopotamus, zebra, Thomson's gazelle, buffalo, wildebeest, hyena and so much more.
With time to visit a traditional Maasai village and the Olduvai Gorge Museum.
