Volunteering - Could You Make a Difference?

Volunteering allows you to immerse yourself in the day to day of normal life at a village level which can really add to your understanding of the world around you. It is a great way to get to know Africa. As a volunteer you also have an opportunity to make a real difference.

Volunteering can be booked on its own or in combination with any of our overland camping trips, short beach breaks or a Kilimanjaro climb. We can assist with advice as to how to work your flights and all arrangements on the ground so that all runs smoothly including liasing with the project management. We can also recommend some cool things to get up to if you have some time spare in between your project and an overland trip. 	We have programs involved with working with lion for two and four weeks in three different settings in southern Africa. The focus is on breeding, rehabilitation and release into the wild. These programs also include community education. There is a chance to get regularly involved in lion walks on these programs as part of their daily care. We can also arrange volunteer work in South Africa with cheetah for two, four and six weeks. 	Education is desparately underfunded in Kenya and Uganda. These programs involve you in building and renovation work in village schools, and where appropriate in teaching in local schools. Programs in Kenya are for two, four and six weeks and the core of the work is based around building. How much teaching you wish to do is up to you. If you want to get involved in the Ugandan work just let us know when you are free.
